2012: Coming This Fall And Winter

The summer of films has passed and even though it was okay, it was still somewhat underwhelming. I look forward to what the film industry has to offer this fall and winter as I'm hoping that the second half of 2012 is much better. The Awards season is practically upon us so there will be serious consideration for Oscar nominees and other awards. Usually this period is when a lot of fine films are released but hey.....lets see! Here are some films to look forward to this fall and for the rest of the year.

A few classics will be shown in 3D and IMAX at the theaters. They are: Finding Nemo, Monsters, Inc and Raiders of The Lost Ark. Fans of these movies can go re-familiarize themselves and have fun all over again.

If you're a fan of the Resident Evil franchise, then Resident Evil: Retribution should be a fun action-packed watch, especially in 3D. The character Jill Valentine returns to the series and teams up with the gang to fight the undead and a corrupt organization.

Looper (Opens September 28)

The trailer for Looper was pretty intriguing and original and I believe this movie will be a good action flick. Starring actor on the rise Joseph Gordan-Levitt and also Bruce Willis.

Wont Back Down (Opens September 28)
An interesting yet familiar storyline but Wont Back Down a must see for me. Why? The cast. Featuring Viola Davis, Maggie Gyllenhaal and Sylvester Stallone, Wont Back Down should be decent.

Taken 2 (Opens October 5)

Why would anyone kidnap Liam Neeson's family again? lol. Well they did it again and this time Liam has a lot more on his hands in this sequel. The first movie was fun so this one should follow along in its footsteps.

Argo (Opens October 12)
I love movies based on true events so this upcoming flick Argo is a must watch for me. Based on the Iran hostage crisis in 1979, the movie stars Ben Affleck, Brian Cranston and John Goodman.

Django Unchained (Opens December 25)
Quentin Tarantino movies are usually so much fun and well put together so I expect no different from Django Unchained. Tarantino has added Jamie Fox to the mix and I have a good feeling about this film. Featuring a star-studded cast, I really hope Django Unchained can match the awesomeness of Tarantino's last film - The Inglorios Basterds.

Cloud Atlas (Opens October 26)
All I can say is  watch this trailer because it is so long but yet so impressive. Plus it does not give away much of the movie's plot and leaves us in suspense. A must-see featuring Tom Hanks and Halle Berry.

Lincoln (Opens November 9)

Daniel Day-Lewis will showcase his talents once more in this Spielberg-directed biopic of the 16th president of the United States of America. Already an Oscar Nominee without being released yet? We'll see.

The Master (Opens September 14)
A movie centered around religion? Hmm. This will probably anger a few people but I expect a good watch. Starring Phillip Seymour Hoffman and Joaquin Phoenix, there are Oscar buzz surrounding this flick.

Flight (Opens November 2)
Denzel Washington saves hundreds of lives when he safely lands a malfunctioning plane; but his heroism is later challenged. I expect a good performance from Denzel as always. The trailer makes the movie seems so intriguing. A must see.

The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey (Opens December 14)

Director Peter Jackson returs to Middle Earth in this prequel story to his critically acclaimed The Lord Of The Rings. If you watched his first trilogy, you will understand why this is a must watch.

Other Movies To Look Forward to:

Smashed
The Impossible
Red Dawn
Les Miserables
The Man With The Iron Fists
Wreck-It Ralph
Skyfall
The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 2

What movies are you looking forward to this fall and winter?
