Must See Films for 2012

2012 promises to be a fine year in film. Most of the movies I've seen thus far have been disappointing but there's still 7-8months left so lets keep our fingers crossed for some good upcoming flicks. Gonna share with yall some of my must see films for the rest of the year....Enjoy :)

THE HOBBIT: AN UNEXPECTED JOURNEY
Release date: December 14, 2012.
Starring Martin Freeman, Ian McKellen and Andy Serkis.
Directed by Peter Jackson.
Prequel to the "Lord of the Rings" trilogy and based on J.R.R Tolkien's "The Hobbit", a lot of hype surrounds the release of this movie. But of course there should be.... LOTR was AMAZING. Been waiting 9years for this prequel, looking forward to see what Peter Jackson and crew brings to this one.  I trust it will be a lovely adaptation.

THE AMAZING SPIDERMAN

Release date: July 3, 2012.
Starring Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone.
 Directed by Marc Webb.
Very excited about this Spiderman reboot following the disappointment of  Spiderman 3. Overall, i think the original Spiderman trilogy lacked excitement and i believe Andrew Garfield will bring that to the table. Yusss!

MARVEL'S THE AVENGERS

Release date: May 4, 2012
Starring Robert Downey Jr, Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth.
Directed by Joss Whedon.
Well what can i say, the trailer looks uber awesome and there's a lot of hype surrounding this film based on the previous Marvel superhero movies. I, for one, wasnt really impressed with some of the previous Marvel films but still looking forward to this thriller.

MADAGASCAR 3: EUROPE'S MOST WANTED

Release date: June 8,2012.
Starring Ben Stiller, David Schwimmer, Chris Rock. Directed by Eric Darnell.
Our favorite zoo animals are in Europe!! Yayy! This is the third installment in the Madagascar film series; the journey has been fun and hasn't disappointed thus far. Pretty excited for this sequel. Leggo!

THE DARK KNIGHT RISES

Release date: July 20,2012.
Starring Christian Bale, Anne Hathaway, Gary Oldman.
Directed by Christopher Nolan.
One of the finest film reboots we have seen in a while, the Dark Knight Rises is a must see, especially for Batman fans. Sequel to an impressive  "The Dark Knight" and a boring "Batman Begins", lets see if director Christopher Nolan can match or even surpass the intensity of his previous film.

THE BOURNE LEGACY

Release date: August 3,2012.
Starring Jeremy Renner and Rachel Weisz.
Directed by Tony Gilroy.
The fourth installment in the Bourne series but guess what....no Matt Damon :( We have grown to love  Matt Damon as Jason Bourne and  anticipated another sequel after the Bourne Ultimatum. Mixed feelings when i heard it was Jeremy Renner starring as Bourne instead but seeing how awesome the first 3 films were, lets see what they have to offer.

PROMETHEUS

Release date: June 8,2012.
Starring Michael Fassbender, Idris Alba and Charlize Theron.
Directed by Ridley Scott.
Seeing the current FAILURE of alien movies this past decade (except District 9 of course), i guess Ridley Scott (the director of "Alien") got fed up and decided to intervene lol. If you're a big fan of the original Alien movies which were pretty good, then you should be uber excited for this one. No Sigourney Weaver but we have the lovely Charlize Theron in place. Excited!

BRAVE

Release date: June 22, 2012
Starring Kelly Macdonald, Billy Connolly, Julie Walters.
Directed by Brenda Chapman.
Being a sucker for animated movies, i was drawn to the preview of "Brave". Not really familiar with all of the cast but my intuition tells me this will be pretty awesome. ...well i hope lol.

THE EXPENDABLES 2

Release date: August 17, 2012.
Starring Sylvester Stallone, Jason Statham, Bruce Willis.
Directed by Simon West.
The average age of this cast is around 60years old lol. Guns, guns and more guns is all I wanna see. Even though the first Expendables movie bore me to death, I'll give this a chance because hey, these old guys produced some of the greatest action flicks back in the 80's and 90's. Chuck Norris and Jean-Claude Van Damme are added to the cast so that means ....MORE ACTION!

LOOPER

Release date: September 28, 2012.
Starring Joseph Gordan Levitt and Bruce Willis.
Directed by Rian Johnson.
I saw this movie trailer just a few days ago and i must say, this looks really interesting. The storyline seems creative and different. Joseph Gordan Levitt rarely disappoints so I'm putting this on my must see list.

RESIDENT EVIL:RETRIBUTION

Release date: September 14, 2012.
Starring Mila Jovovich, Ali Larter and Sienna Guillory.
Directed by Paul W.S Anderson.
If you're a big fan of the film series and the video game (as I am), then this is a must watch for you. Finally they have reintroduced Jill Valentine (Sienna Guillory) back into the picture. Jill vs Alice? hell yeah. Super excited to see this fifth installment. Leggo!!

TOTAL RECALL

Release date: August 3, 2012.
Starring Colin Farrell, Kate Beckinsale and Jessica Biel.
Directed by Len Wiseman.
This is the 2012 remake of our beloved Arnold Schwarzenegger's 1990 classic "Total Recall". Sigh. Seeing how Hollywood has ruined most remakes over these past few years, I had mixed feelings about this one but I'm keeping my fingers crossed. Hopefully we wont be disappointed.....HOPEFULLY.

THE TWILIGHT SAGA: BREAKING DAWN PART 2

Release date: November 16, 2012.

Starring Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner.
Directed by Bill Condon.
Yes this #TeamEdward vs #TeamJacob is finally coming to an end! And we all know who the idiot Bella Swan (Stewart) chose. Sequel to a disappointing and crappy Breaking Dawn part 1, my expectations arent really that high but being fan of the story and the books, its a must see for me and fellow Jacob/Edward lovers.

  1. Another great blog I must say. Guess carib will be seeing me a lot for the rest of the year because certain movies I just will not do justice watching on a small screen. Some of these movies are a must see while some aren't worth my time. The ones I can't wait to see are Avengers, the new G.I Joe, Resident Evil and the New Batman. Don't think ill be going to see Breaking Dawn cause all series didn't really excite me an just seemed more like a soaps more than an action movie like I was expecting. Anyways keep up the blog and I'll keep reading.
