Here are a few short reviews and ratings on some of the films I have recently seen. Some were good films, some were disappointments and the rest should have never been released to the public. Check it out.
Red Dawn (2012)
Apparently this film is a remake of the 1984 version which starred Patrick Swayze and C.Thomas Howell with a few changes. Okay so North Korean army forces, with the aid of the Russians, have invaded the United States for dumb reasons. They invade a small town where a group of teenagers escape, form a resistant and fight back. This is one of the worst action movies I have ever seen. It reminded me of one of those cliched alien flicks with its cheesy dialogue, implausible characters and lame action sequences. I just found it a bit funny that army personnels could take over a country but couldnt stop a few teenagers.

The Snow Walker (2003)
An engaging and heartwarming story of a pilot and an Inuit woman struggle for survival after their plane crashed in North Tundra. Facing tedious conditions, Barry Pepper delivers a great performance and the leads onscreen bond, despite their different personalities, really carried this movie.

Rise Of The Guardians (2012)
The boogeyman devises a plan to take over the world so now the guardians - Santa Claus, The Sandman, Easter bunny, Tooth Fairy and newly acquired member Jack Frost must prevent the children of the world from stop believing in them. Cool animation but Rise Of The Guardian's somewhat predictable storyline seemed all over the place.

Trouble With The Curve (2012)
We follow the story of Gus Lobel (Clint Eastwood), a respected baseball scout and his daughter Mickey (Amy Adams) as they go about on a scouting trip for a top draft prospect. Trouble With The Curve lacks that emotion of most great sports movies and even though the storyline was a bit different, it still felt cliched. Okay performances in an okay movie. -

Amour (2012)
A performance-driven film highlighting the interactions of an elderly couple and the challenges of old age. Jean-Louis Trintignant and Emmanuelle Riva shined in their roles but this movie, just like its main cast, was a bit too slow in parts.

Fat Kid Rules The World (2012)
A punk-rock, coming-of-age movie of a obese teenager who finds an unexpected friend in a high school dropout. Matthew Lillard's debut in the director seat and I must say, it was a decent debut. Surpisingly funny and moving with solid performances from the cast.

Silver Linings Playbook (2012)
Fast paced, funny and edgy, Silver Linings Playbook isnt your typical romance drama. We follow the interactions of Pat (Bradley Cooper), a mental patient released after 8months on a plea bargain. After losing his wife and house, he moves back in with his parents and develops a friendship with Tiffany (Jennifer Lawrence). This movie was as crazy as its lead character and I just loved how Jennifer Lawrence matched Bradley's craziness. Predictable at parts but great performances in a surprisingly fun movie.

Your Sister's Sister (2012)
One of the most unusual "Love Triangle" you'll see in a film and it made Your Sister's Sister totally worth the watch. Mark Duplass continues to have an impressive year and his co-stars Emily Blunt and Rosemarie DeWitt shined alongside him. A sweet, romantic and well written film with enjoyable dialogue and performances.

The Man With The Iron Fists (2012)
RZA makes his directorial debut with this kung fu action flick The Man With The Iron Fists. After watching I totally think RZA should stick to rapping and supporting roles. Poorly written, poorly acted and I'm not sure Russell Crowe was aware he was a part of this film. The fighting scenes were bloody but overall it was as dumb as the rest of this movie.
